Meet Kate
Kate is the visionary leader behind Finding the Fire Within Retreat. A former engineer in a male-dominated industry, she was the only woman in many of the rooms she worked in—and one of the only women in her engineering program. That experience shaped her deep commitment to resilience, excellence, and leading with confidence in spaces where women are often underestimated.
After 15 years in engineering, Kate made the courageous decision to leave behind stability and pursue a more purpose-driven path in residential construction and leadership. Known for her discipline and high standards, she begins most mornings before sunrise with workouts, motivational teachings, and intentional practices that keep her grounded, focused, and inspired.
Following a transformative season in her personal life, Kate founded The Anchor Group and launched a women’s leadership initiative through the Professional Women in Building Council, creating spaces for women to grow in confidence, leadership, and self-worth.
Meet Heather
Heather’s journey has been anything but linear — from teaching English in Japan in her early twenties to becoming an entrepreneur, designer, and world traveler immersed in different cultures, wellness practices, and intentional living.
After moving to the coast in 2020, Heather found herself deeply impacted by the rhythm of the ocean, nature, and the space they created for her to slow down and reconnect to herself.
Combined with her first breathwork experience, it opened the door to a deeper healing journey that now shapes the way she blends her background in design, hospitality, travel, and wellness.
Her goal is to create environments where women feel safe enough to soften, reconnect to themselves, and experience meaningful transformation.
